Today some of our year 5 children took charge of a PE session to see what its like to lead a PE session.
This was all part of a 10 week programme which involved the children learning about sports leadership and what it takes be a good leader, also how to plan and deliver a session aimed at improving a participants throwing and catching skills.
All the year 5's hard work came together today as they delivered a session for the first time to some of our year 2 pupils.
All children involved really enjoyed it with lots of positive feedback given to them from the children. All the year 5's loved the session and are hoping their new found leadership skills can be used next year in other PE lessons in the future.
Well done to all the children involved!
The F2 children were treated to a morning of tennis as TOTS tennis coach Luke Sloan came into Arnold Mill to deliver some taster sessions to F2, with the aim to create a fun filled session for the children as well as to develop the children's hand-eye coordination and skills involved in tennis.
All the Children looked to enjoy themselves, with it being some of the children's first experience of tennis they were excited by the ideas of learning some new skills and having some fun!
Luke Sloan delivers sessions to students after school at Arnold Mill, as well is running a Easter tennis camp over the holidays, if you think your child would be interested in getting involved and playing some tennis the details for both Easter camp and after school tennis sessions are listed below and hope to see lots of Arnold Mill pupils there!
Well done to all our runners who took part in Saturday's cross country event, everybody put in 100% and did themselves, their parents and the school proud. Both the girls and the boys teams came 6th position out of 13 schools which is a great result, for most of the children it was their first race.
A special mention to our 'pocket rocket' (Eddie Lowe), who was the overall winner of the boys race and won by a long away!
