Pupil Voice

Pupil Voice

As we are an inclusive school, not only do we have an active School Council, we take pride in the fact that we also have a ‘Pupil Voice Group.’ This group consists of two individuals from each year group starting in Year 2. The children are not voted in each year as the School Council are, but remain a permanent member of our Pupil Voice Group every year until they leave school at Year 6.

“What is the purpose of this group?”

We try to meet every half term and discuss items raised by the school council as well as any other ideas or situations that the children want to discuss. One of the main differences is that we try to look at these from a different perspective taking into account some of our children’s individual needs. Pupil Voice allows some children, who may be overlooked or lack the confidence in a larger group situation, to have their voice heard. It also helps a few of these children to really grow in confidence and actively engage in their school life.
