Friday 7th November - Tri Schools Running League Competition (Southwark Primary School)
The rain descended on the team as they travelled to Basford for the teams first competition of the year, but this terrible weather didn't damper or deter our runners as they competed excellently against Southwark & Arnbrook. The competition included 3 events, that were completed by all 10 competitors (5 boys & 5 girls). The team managed an excellent performance and finished 2nd overall, only just behind top spot.
A special individual mention for Aaron Powditch who amazed everyone with his fantastic efforts, gaining a personal achievement of first in the long and middle distance and then helping the relay team to first in the team event.
Well done runners - hopefully the weather will be better for the next event
Wednesday 26th November - Gedling Cross Country Competition (Carlton-Le-Willows)
Once again the rain returned for this annual cross country event where 5 girls and 5 boys represented us as a school. After plenty of training at the after school club on a Monday, the team were raring to go.
Both teams performed really well with the boys gaining 3rd place and the girls finishing in 4th.
Personal mentions must go to Olivia Greentree for her fantastic performance as she claimed 3rd place and to Sophie Hackett who secured 13th. The boys also had 2 in the top twelve with Thomas York finishing 4th and Aaron Powditch claiming 8th. These pupils will now represent Gedling District at the finals in February at Sutton Lawn.
