Cross Country success

On Tuesday 28th November 16 very excited pupils travelled to Carlton-Le- Willow’s secondary school to compete in the annual Gedling District Finals. With 15 schools competing, the most ever, it was sure to be a tough race for our pupils.

With the girls race first, it was clear to see the practice at the weekly running club had prepared the runners for the event with our 4 of our runners finishing in the top 7 (out of 78)

The pressure was then on the boys to perform in their race. The boys found it a lot harder but they ran their hearts out and they put in an excellent team performance.

Both teams scored excellently, with the boys finishing 3rd overall and the Girls winning their event by over 30 points.

A huge well done to the following children for finishing in the top 12 for the event, they will now compete for Gedling at the county finals in February

Poppy Greentree - 1st

Chloe Wildgust-Straw - 3rd

Natasha Need - 5th

Lily-Mai Fletcher 7th

Isaac Byfield - 3rd
